Experience of Reading Book by University Student of Nursing

Abstract
Purpose: The objective of this research was to understand the experiences of university nursing students who read .

Methods: Fifty-four juniors in the department of nursing science read and submitted their 2-pages written impression which were used as research materials. The analysis was made by the 6-phases of thematic analysis of Braun and Clark(2006).

Results: The following 7 themes were drawn from the analysis. 1) Confirming and analyzing the shameful prejudice formed inside me. 2) Understanding the client¡¯s nursing needs with head and heart. 3) Looking forward to and preparing for the practice of mental health to be implemented later. 4) Recollecting the crisis experienced in the past and feeling ease and appreciation for the present situation. 5) Being afraid of the mental disease and feeling their illness as ours. 6) Recognizing the importance of mental health and checking the usual stress management methods. 7) Examining oneself with new recognition in the occupation of nursing and motivation to learn.

Conclusion: According to this research, the assignment of reading ¡¯Memorandum of overcoming in person with mental illness¡¯ and writing the impression thereof suggests potential as a new teaching method for psychiatric and mental health nursing.
